How do we accomplish the Luke 14 mandate? Joni and Friends Knoxville, under the direction of Dr. Laura Payne and a local Board of Ministry Development, seeks to evangelize, disciple and encourage people with disabilities to use their gifts within the body of Christ and to equip Christ-honoring churches to serve individuals and families affected by disability. This goal is accomplished in a variety of ways including disability awareness training, Luke 14 Dinners, Family Retreats, Special Delivery and Wheels for the World.
We at Joni and Friends Knoxville focus on helping establish and support disability ministries in churches and to foster relationships between churches and people with disabilities in their communities. Our goal is to help churches develop a caring, loving ministry that will meet the needs of those with disabilities, as well as their families in all ways: spiritually, emotionally and physically. We want to help these individuals become a vital part of a loving congregation, being able to use their God-given gifts to serve the Lord in special ways.
Joni and Friends Knoxville would love the opportunity to work with your church in developing a strong ministry to meet the needs of individuals and families affected by disabilities. We have a wealth of information and resources to aid you in reaching out to the disability community, as well as a staff to guide you in the process of developing this much-needed outreach.
